Summary
High Point Center for Care is the healthcare component of Broadview Senior Living at Purchase College. The comprehensive project brings the concept of intergenerational living to life by integrating a senior living community on a college campus. High Point offers assisted living, enhanced assisted living and memory care suites in a safe, comfortable environment where residents can age in place while enjoying the comforts, amenities, and activities of the Broadview community.
Inspired Design
The benefits of an intergenerational lifestyle inspired the design of Broadview and High Point. With the two environments connected via indoor access, the team explored an architectural vocabulary and design aesthetic with a broad appeal to multiple generations and appropriate for different care levels. The goal was to create an energetic environment that encourages connectivity, camaraderie as well as quiet contemplation.
Style
The design of High Point Center continues Broadview’s refined farmhouse chic aesthetic, bridging vintage and industrial elements with clean lines and modern details. This “old meets new” design expression combined with ample daylighting and connections to the outdoors achieves a comfortable and inviting interior where everyone feels at home.
Materials
Each space explores layers of materials and details. A neutral backdrop is enhanced with the warmth and texture of exposed beams, reclaimed wood and shiplap. A mix of metals adds an industrial edge, while pops of color, texture and pattern create an elegant residential appeal with unexpected visual delights.
