Summary
Shannondell is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) introduced to the Audubon market in 2003 by a local family-owned developer of hotels, retail and multifamily real estate. Over the years, the community has become the preferred choice for adults seeking an enriching, wellness-focused lifestyle. MDP assisted in developing a long-range plan to refresh the look and feel of its ample amenity spaces, starting with the dining venues.

Inspired Design
With a new focus on hospitality, the design team has developed three fresh restaurant concepts with three additional venues on the horizon. The design honors tradition and celebrates modern living to achieve “timeless elegance.” The team looked to the property’s history as a family farm for inspiration and explored concepts to create distinctly branded destinations. Design decisions aim to achieve a transitional aesthetic that comforts existing residents while exciting prospects.
Style
The design selections offer a mix of traditional and contemporary pieces with a focus on simplicity. Departing from large-scale patterns, dark hues and ornate furnishings, the refreshed design lightens the space and reveals the beauty of clean lines and soft curves.
Materials
A neutral palette with navy and pale blue accents brightens the interior and achieves a refined and tailored aesthetic. Polished brass and cherry wood finishes are enhanced with antique brass and walnut selections while textural wall coverings and stylized fabrics add a touch of elegance. Ceiling details and custom wall screens play with scale to define destinations and create intimate moments within larger spaces.
