Summary
Jefferson’s Ferry, a Long Island continuing care senior living campus, invested in a strategic planning process to identify opportunities for independent living lifestyle enhancements and healthy living growth opportunities on their approximately 50-acre campus in South Setauket.
Inspired Design
The design was inspired by Jefferson Ferry’s mission to provide older adults an active lifestyle within an all-inclusive Life Care Retirement Community. A redeveloped commons area with expanded wellness-focused amenities, additional independent living apartments, a new memory support assisted living building, repositioned Health Care Center and new Healthy Living Center provide a comprehensive program that is brought to life with a regionally-influenced, modern aesthetic.
Style
The interior design references the familiar coastal “North Shore” aesthetic, taking cues from Robert A.M. Stern-influenced shingle style architecture. The soothing seaside inspired palette is accented with pops of saturated hues, intriguing textures and sophisticated furnishings and accessories to invigorate the interior with a sense of energy and excitement.
Materials
The materials palette infuses each space with pattern and texture to add visual interest and a level of sophistication. Varying applications of wood, stone, glass, tile, wallcoverings and modular wall reliefs create a modern coastal appeal.
