Argentum wrapped up 2020 with the release of its Nov/Dec issue of Senior Living Executive featuring the winners of the Senior Living by Design awards program. MDP is pleased to announce our project, Greenleaf Rehab at Smith Crossing, received special honorable mention recognition.
The article, “Welcome to the World of Well-Being,” explores the innovative ways the five winning projects address care, safety, and quality in every detail. The judges were so impressed with the design approach to Greenleaf that they highlighted the project with special honorable mention recognition.
This project was a collaboration between Smith Senior Living, MDP, AG Architecture and Weis Builders. The intent was to provide the Smith Crossing senior living community and local hospitals with a more resident-centered solution to short term rehab. The design was guided by the mantra of Rehab-Restore-Relax and inspired by a theme of comfort and hospitality. The interior offers the appeal of a modern, boutique hotel with a casual dining and lounge area as the featured amenity. The soothing color and materials palette is accented with well-appointed art and accessories to create a truly desirable destination. The design thoughtfully balances quiet, private areas with more dynamic rehab and public spaces to provide guests with the personalized services and ample time they need to properly recuperate and return home to healthy, daily living.
