Getting to Know More…About Kelly Crozier

MDP News

Kelly Crozier headshotKelly Crozier is the newest addition to the MDP Team. She joined us in February 2020–just before our world was turned upside down by Covid-19.

Kelly has always been an observant, curious and creative person. She will even admit to creatively getting into mischief as a child. She was always keeping busy, sometimes with supplies her father, an industrial arts teacher, didn’t want her experimenting with. Her passion for art and creating, whether in the garden or hand drawing house interiors, led her to the interior design program at Bowling Green State University. Right out of college she found her way to the world headquarters of La-Z-Boy Incorporated in Michigan. After over 27 years in interior design, project management, and store merchandising with La-Z-Boy, she relocated to Pennsylvania with her family.

An important part of our Inspired Design philosophy is having a multidisciplinary team of design professionals who bring a unique perspective to the project process. Kelly’s retail design experience includes developing 48 residential vignettes (at a time) for La-Z-Boy freestanding stores. She understands all of the details and special touches that make a space feel like home. The MDP Team is enjoying her fresh outlook as part of our collaborative process. While the foundation of her career has been retail, she has a personal passion for senior living. Her cherished relationship with her grandparents instilled the importance of being surrounded by multiple generations—and all that she learned from them brings heart to her work.

“I am blessed with the opportunity to honor our wiser generation with my design talents. Creating beautiful, vibrant, and comfort-based atmospheres gives me a special sense of purpose. I take pride in knowing that my designs provide seniors with a place of warmth, a sense of home, and an environment in which they will continue to flourish.”

Enjoy this Q&A with Kelly Crozier:

1. Is there a mantra or inspirational quote that is meaningful to you?

“Be the moon and inspire people even when you are far from full.” – K.Tolnoe

This quote personifies how I want to live my life; consistently giving of myself and investing in others, even on days when I am running on empty.

2. If you had a theme song, what would it be? Why?

Louis Armstrong’s – What a Wonderful World

For me, this song brings to light the simple and beautiful things of the world, like blue skies, colors of the rainbow, and the warmth and friendliness that people extend towards others. The words are a reminder that despite all the heartbreaking things that may happen around us on a daily basis, there is still beauty in our world and in our lives. Adopting an attitude of thanksgiving and appreciation is always the right choice.

3. Where is your favorite place to travel?

Any place new

I love exploring new towns and cities. Meeting the locals, trying new restaurants, and taking in the architecture of the unique buildings and landscapes always gives me a fresh new perspective. There are incredible treasures and undiscovered experiences all around us, no matter where we go.

4. What is your favorite meal to cook?

My husband’s birthday dinner – Three Cheese Spinach Manicotti with Endive Salad
